EPW - Tiffany & Co, New York, chronograph with regulator dial, English made, 52mm, heavy 18K gold original HC with elegant monogram initials to front and rear, bearing "A N" marking in cameo for Adolph Nicole, white enamel DS regulator style dial, SW-pin-set with Adolphe Nicole's 1844 patented winding and setting system and featuring later improved version filed by his nephew David L.A. Nicole in 1855, fully capped lever escapement, at least 19J, gilt mvt, s#5909 with matching serial number within case. Gross weight of assembled watch 81.5 dwt (126.8 g).
CONDITION:
Mvt: Running, fine-plus cosmetic mvt condition overall, good gilt tone, small distortion of plate contour surrounding third wheel jewel indicative of likely past repair involving replacement of this jewel, few scattered micro-fine scratches; dial with patched edge chip at lower-left, small patched chip within hour register, flaking or small chipping around center of seconds-register, hl above seconds-register, small edge chip at right side with few adjacent additional very small edge flakes; excellent hands; case shows medium wear, scattered mild dings to rear evident as rippling of reflection, mild ding to band at upper-right, reduced engraving detail, front lift springs allowing opened lid to tilt approximately one-third toward closed with gravity, opened rear lid falling closed freely with gravity; tight bow, crown shows ample wear; good glass crystal.
